Sunrise Over Kampong Ayer
I got there early and the river was quiet. The whole village felt like it was waking up with me.
I stood on the jetty with a kopi and watched the water change color. Boats moved past like they knew the script, and the sky went from dark to warm in minutes. Kampong Ayer feels historic, but it is also a real neighborhood with kids on bikes, people heading to work, and a calm rhythm you can only get by the water.
